WILD 🐎 // Life is wild and so beautiful

Life is a wild ride.
It bends and turns.
It travels up.
Then drops low.
Sometimes you feel like you’re on a mountain top.
Other times you feel like you're under water.
That’s the beauty of life though—
You get to experience all of it.
It’s what you do with the experiences that matter.
Mom: Wild and free
My mom passed away 38 years ago, today. In my short, 15 years with her there's one lesson she taught me that sticks to every ounce of my being. Just two words: YOU CAN. There was no other option than this because the alternative was weak, filled with fear, riddled with excuses, and would have no purpose in our family. It's one of the most beautiful lessons in my life and if you know me, one that I share often. So much so that I had my license plate personalized with those two words. Now when I'm in the wild, anyone passing by my car can be reminded "YOU CAN", too.
It would have been really easy to go in the wrong direction after my mom passed away. I could have taken a completely different turn in life that was not living her legacy. But I chose to live what she taught me and share it every chance I could. This lesson would allow me to finish college in 3 years, start my own marketing consulting business at age 27 and work with some of the largest corporations in the world. It's allowed me to be curious, learn and grow. I've been able to coach people and show them everything will be okay with the right mindset of believing YOU CAN. Wild, right?
See, the wild ride of life is meant to be just that—WILD. It’s not supposed to be easy or comfortable. It’s supposed to be challenging, invigorating, and hard. We’re supposed to be bold. Living in our truth and spreading it to all those who will listen. Whether people agree with you or not doesn’t matter. I believe when you are spreading positivity, love, and light your people will find you. Your haters will too. And that’s ok. As long as the leader of your life is love, what does it matter if people don’t agree or like you? It’s their business and not yours. So go be wild and love this life you have!
When you choose to live in a space that's filled with positivity and believing you can, it shapes everything around you. For example, I don't waste time with the negative. I don't watch the news, and I never watch scary movies/shows. I don't read stupid shit either. It just fills my brain with the wrong info and then it messes everything up for me. Call me a Maverick....the one that is totally fine being an outsider and a weirdo. I really don't care. But that's the wild side and what makes life beautiful! You just have to do you! And when you do, I promise you, your people will find you!
By filling my brain with the good, it keeps me happy and filled with joy. This world can be dark and the only way to remove it is with the light. So, forgive me if I’m the annoyingly happy person in your life. The one that finds the blessings in the tragedies. The upside of the down. It’s my reason to my rhyme. That rhyme of life where I keep creating memories. The memories that make a life well worth living. The memories my kids will reminisce on and smile.
Life is good. And it keeps getting better. My mom would believe that, and I choose to live in her footsteps every day. It’s how I honor her legacy. It’s how I make sense of losing her at such a young age. It’s how I know she’s still with me. Every. Single. Day!
The light shines in darkness, and the darkness has not overcome it. John 1:5
I'll leave you with this: Grab the reins and ride. Ride through this life like you give a damn and LOVE everything you've been blessed with—Your brain, your lungs, your legs, your eyes. If you woke up and are able to read this, you've already won the game! Keep going, focus on the good and only what you can control. Stay wild child, it keeps you young and makes life beautiful!
